Ryusen takes a sip of the tea that his father made while gazing at the farthest distance he could see. His father notices, “Is it about time?” asked his father. Ryu glanced at his father who stood up first. “Father, what would happen if I didn’t come back?” “Well, there are only two possibles meanings. Either you die or you find your virtue there.” Ryu chuckles then hugs his father for probably the last time.
Kinasle ran hastily to the edge of her village. The sun shines through every haze and cloud to meet her. she tries to put on the necklaces of aerial while still chasing the sun. she made it to the edge. looking around to see her friend is nowhere to be seen. “Well I guess I have time to put on the necklace after all,” she said. a familiar voice approaches “do you ever think if we trained harder we would have enough stamina to go that place in one jump?” It was Ryusen. “if a mere human like us could do that then it will never be called ‘the farthest’ ” she replied. They both greet each other, she then gazes at the view of the edge of their hometown, flying crescents, birds traveling, and the sun smile upon them.
“Kina, do you think you get what you need there?” Ryu asked. “don’t mind me, what I’m searching for is something tangible, something particularly guaranteed to make me happy. instead, make up your mind about what you want Ryu, you always say you want to be happy. you always say you need to be happy. even happiness itself you don’t know what it is!” mocks Asle. “isn’t that the point? the point to get there is to achieve happiness?” “yeah yeah, I know. the point is we will be happy” she ended the topic as they start to take off using the necklace of aerial.
“Hey Ryu, what did you eat for breakfast? you know we can’t bring any food supplies, right? it’s crazy to think that this could be the last meal that I eat from our hometown.” “I had tea. yeah, I know. we actually have to hunt down birds to eat in the wilderness. by the way, what do you mean ‘this’?” “oh, my parents actually make me a meal to eat during our first day” “it’s unreal that you said we can’t bring any food supplies when you pack a lunch”
Ryusen and Kinasle.both of them have been friends since they were toddlers. up until their age of consent, they wondered about true virtue. they are on their adventure to seek true happiness. There is a myth that there is a place where virtue lies. where they will gain happiness. The Farthest Sunken Sky. They both lived in small villages in the sky. their parents let them go on the journey since they both mastered the necklace of aerial which makes them able to fly. just like running, they fly according to their stamina. Unlike Asle who seeks gold or money to make her happy, Ryusen couldn’t even pinpoint his happiness. so he hopes that finding the places will make him find what is his happiness.
